Skin Thimble™
General overview of the ProductsWelcome to the world of Skin Thimble™. Our Skin Thimble™ products are sewn and packaged by Community Rehabilitation Organizations in Red Wing, Minnesota and Rochester, Minnesota. These organizations operate under the auspices of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, which has been amended and authorized through 2003. All Skin Thimble products are, “NAFTA Compliant™” and “U.S. Rehabilitation Center compliant™.” CERATech, INC is based in Rochester, MN. It has responsibility for marketing and distribution of Skin Thimble™ products. Our mission is; “to compete using intellectual property, technology and compassion.” Our quality, usability and comfort guarantee is quite simple: “If you find a leather thimble that provides better comfort and functionality in the same price range as a comparable Skin Thimble™ let us know. If you have a defective Skin Thimble™ contact us. We will work with you to resolve the problem. This resolution promise applies to all Skin Thimbles™ independent of where the thimble was purchased.” Each of our Skin Thimble™ models is constructed from soft-supple (2.5 to 3 ounces) deerskin that is extracted from homegrown USA deer. Your finger is completely surrounded by deerskin. Those who sew for long periods of time understand the effects of “thimble slippage worrying anxiety” and “thimble slippage induced finger fatigue.” These conditions occur because leather stretches when worn. Our Skin Thimble™ products alleviate these conditions by placing an elastic no-slip support system at the top of the thimble. This support system attaches the thimble to your finger so that it always fits like a customized glove. All Skin Thimble™ products contain a pull-tab that allows you to adjust each thimble for your best fit. You place your finger inside the elastic support system and pull. The tab is always there for thimble adjustments. Most of our thimbles contain a “prick
proof needle shield™.” The shield is placed
inside the thimble in a leather pocket. Your finger is
protected by three layers of leather and a “prick
proof needle shield™.” In some models the
shield is a flexible 30ml plastic shield. In other models
the shield is a metal dimpled coin that provides the same
level of protection as a metal thimble.
